the lovely kitchen triptych

Hi! I’m Maresa. { That’s pronounced Ma-ree-sa! }

I love good coffee, string lights, sushi, and giant fashion magazines. I love to bake, snap photos, ride my bike, garden, and I love food.

All kinds of food. But in particular: fresh fruit pies, cauliflower, homemade pasta, brussels sprouts, peaches, cherry tomatoes, sushi, chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, and wine. I adore cookbooks and love cooking and chronicling my kitchen adventures here. I cook with { mostly } whole foods and locally-sourced produce from our rooftop gardenCSA boxes, and local farmer’s markets.

Vancouver, BC, Canada is where I call home, though I was born and raised on an island, and have skipped across Canada living in Montreal and Toronto.

I live with and am recently engaged {!!!} to my very amazing dish-washing, taste-testing, sous chef fiancé, J. I am a step-mom to J’s 6-year-old daughter, A, who will pretty much eat anything { including olives and brussel sprouts }.

    What a fabulous site! I honestly cannot decide which recipe to try first. I was going for the Chewy Oatmeal Cookies and then I saw the Double Chocolate Espresso ones! Oh my…..which ones! You are going to give me the reason to spend many hours of fun in the kitchen. Thank you Maresa
